Kids Pottery Classes start with a foundation in hand-building (without a pottery wheel) where students will study the craft learning from one of our professional instructors. At the end of the 6 weeks students will have created a number of unique pieces that will be fired and glazed. They are encouraged to sign up for the second session where our instructors will work one on one with them to build their skills.

Students will jump right into the exploration of several different art mediums including drawing, painting, clay and colour theory over the course of two 6-week semesters. This class gives students an overview of the visual arts foundations they can build upon at Prairie Fusion and someday perhaps post-secondary.

This is one of our foundational Visual Arts classes that will help emerging artists grow their skills for any craft.
Semester 1 will focus on the basics of line making and shading and give students an overview of different drawing styles.
Semester 2 will build upon the basic foundations and students will explore different drawing mediums in more depth.

It is nontoxic, water-based and perfect for creating sculptures for your home or garden! The workshop fee includes one kit, extra kits can be purchased in our Gift Shop.

• DO NOT dump water from pail down your drain or wash off Paverpol covered hands in sink. Paverpol is 100% non-toxic and can be safely put on grass, flowers, etc. however Paverpol particles will stick to metal pipes

This paint night is the perfect evening of Escape and Indulgence. Included in the paint night are a bottle of Prosecco Sparkling Wine and a delicious cake made by Sarah’s Cakes & Pastries, just for you. Cake flavours to choose from are Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. You will be able to enjoy the dessert and wine while being guided through the steps to create a unique painting by local artist, Olivia Leader.

Ths is a hands on workshop where you'll grow familiar with the use of carrier oils such as olive, coconut, grapeseed and castor oils, to create your own lip balm to take home and enjoy.

In this two-hour workshop, you will paint premade pottery items with an array of colours. Create two pieces of dinnerware with your personal touch. Upcycle! Learn how to crochet with homemade t-shirt thread, cut from those shirts you just don’t wear anymore, or from other found fabrics. You will create a colourful and useful potholder to adorn your kitchen, and will walk away with the foundations to complete other, more complicated projects, such as bags and rugs. We will be felting a piece of wool batting with wool embellishments worked into it. With the felted piece, you will make a small purse, or use it for whatever you can imagine. Experience the art of wool, water, and soap coming together to create your own masterpiece. Working on this small project will give you confidence to move on to larger projects! Cost of supplies is $10, if not taken as part of the Five-Workshop Pass (payable to instructor, at the workshop).

Penny rugs date back to the 1800s, around the time of the U.S. Civil War. Thrifty homemakers started using scraps of wool and felted wool from old clothes, blankets, and hats to make the rugs. The penny, and other coins, were used as templates to cut out the circles used to create the rugs. All supplies inlcluded.
