Junior Ukrainian Dance: ages 5+

Registration Fee $366.00 (includes costume rental)

Reminder families can apply to Jumpstart for assistance with payment of registration fees.  Family Resource Centre usually has application forms plus links on their website.

Mondays          Junior Practices (age 5-10)         6:30 – 7:25

Ukrainian Dance shares elements of Ballet with Folk Dance and can be both lyrical and energetic! Steps are precise yet athletic and the art form teaches control and endurance. This vibrant dance has deep historical roots, yet can truly be appreciated and enjoyed by a wide audience.

Beginners will learn the basics of dance positions, rhythm, basic steps from central Ukraine and group work.  A minimum of one dance will be choreographed for performance 

PRACTICE DRESS CODE

 Girls - Cap sleeve or sleeveless body suit (any colour) with tights OR T-Shirt and leggings

Boys – T-shirt and loose fitting shorts or sweatpants

NO JEANS or binding shorts / pants are permitted.

Ballet slippers or jazz shoes (black is preferred, nude is acceptable)

Hair slicked back in tight ponytail. Bangs must be out of face, clipped back. If hair is too short, must be pulled back as much as possible.

Dancers must bring their own water bottle.

Festival fees are additional and due at the time of Festival Registration
