Exhibition

Colour Distinctive: Art, Soul and Spirit

Main Gallery

Genevie Henderson & Angela Lillico

Exhibition dates: April 23 to June 1, 2019

Exhibition opening and artists’ talk: Sunday, May 5, at 2:00 p.m.

Understanding an artist’s purpose and meaning is an elusive concept that is not easily articulated, even by artists. The artist’s journey is frequently fraught with doubts and questions related to “Why make art?” The value of art is often defined monetarily. Henderson and Lillico suggest that an artist’s life reaches beyond this restrictive purpose. For each artist, the path of making art has different meanings, while spirituality plays a significant role in their individual creativity.
