Charcoal Drawings by Sharon Green
Charcoal Drawings by Sharon Green is a collection of recent drawings by local artist Sharon Green.
Biography
Sharon became interested in art when she took a summer course on Impressionist paintings at the University of Brandon in 1999. It quickly became a passion of sorts and she began to read everything she could get her hands on about art history, but especially the impressionists. From there it evolved into taking art classes, painting and experimenting with different mediums and styles.
Sharon lives in Portage la Prairie where she practices her art in her home studio.
Artist Statement:
A few years ago I started doing charcoal drawings at Open Studio here at the Gallery. With helpful suggestions and pointers from fellow artist and tip from several art books, i gradually began to like the mideau and its possibilities. Here are some of my “studies” (if I may call them that) for you to consider.
