My Collection focuses on positive uplifting images. I use colour to sooth the mind and eye. At times only using monochromatic shades with pops of colour on focal objects. Many images include Water. Water is a mirror of Nature capturing imagery and colour. Not perfect but beautiful and relaxing to the mind. Why do people create Art? Or plant Gardens, Decorate Cakes, Quilt, Make Pottery and the list is infinite. I believe we are expressing feelings and saying something without using words. Art is used for Trauma healing, people with dementia and helping trauma survivors release memories. We create with a gentle hand on a peaceful day and paint with aggression when we need to release that emotion. All people have this ability. It’s up to us to choose which path and medium to tell our story. Cathy Painter
